REALTORS® Ray Harris and Juliana Vallee were honoured with GVR’s Professional Excellence Award and REALTORS Care® Award, respectively, in April.

The Professional Excellence Award honours those in real estate whose careers have epitomized integrity, knowledge, ethics, leadership, community service, and mentorship.

The REALTORS Care® Award honours Realtors who demonstrate a sustained commitment to charitable, fundraising or volunteer activities that strengthen communities and support people in need.

2023 GVR Professional Excellence Award recipient Ray Harris

Ray Harris is a Realtor with Generations Real Estate Partners in Port Coquitlam. He’s mentored hundreds of colleagues throughout his 38-year career. He’s also been a leader within the profession, serving in volunteer positions at GVR, the BC Real Estate Association, and the Canadian Real Estate Association.

Harris served as Chair of GVR in 2014 after several years of volunteering on the Board of Directors. He currently chairs GVR's Government Relations Committee, which was recently honoured with a provincial government advocacy award. He was also recognized individually for his advocacy work.

In the community, Harris supports charities ranging from national initiatives like Movember and the Canadian Cancer Society Cops for Cancer, to local causes like SHARE Family and Community Services and the WOW Event Society.

2023 REALTORS Care® Award recipient Juliana Vallee

Juliana Vallee, a Realtor with RE/MAX Heights Realty in Burnaby, is this year’s REALTORS Care® Award recipient for her charitable support of girls in need, extensive fundraising, and other community work across Metro Vancouver.

Juliana founded the Vancity Girls Club, an organisation that offers mentorship, guidance, and leadership to help girls in need overcome challenges and achieve their goals. The club has proved so successful that new chapters have opened in Burnaby and the Tri-Cities.

In 2023, she personally fundraised enough money for more than 40 members of the girls club and its partner boys club to attend a leadership camp.

As a brain tumor survivor, Juliana also donates a portion of each sale that she’s involved with to the Brain Tumor Foundation of Canada.
